J. Lohr Riverstone Chardonnay
It amazes me that after all these years, J. Lohr has been able to consistently delivers such a great wine. Perhaps it because they still are family owned and still grow all their own fruit. 100% of the fruit for this Chardonnay still comes J Lohr's Riverstone vineyards along the Arroyo Seco river. Aromas of lime zest, pear and nectarine combined with the perfumed honey. The flavor is clean, with subtle floral notes and vanilla toastiness.

This is the moderately priced "sequel" to the extremely-limited production, Chilean wine named Pargua. It is made with a bright blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Merlot, 15% Carmenère, 15% Syrah, 8% Cabernet Franc, and 2% Petit Verdot. Juicy texture with integrated tannins and a bold finish of wild berries, dried fruit, and sweet spice. Get it while you can, less than 3,000 cases produced.
