There's a ton going on around here lately. Most excitingly we have finished the menu for our Bell Wine Dinner! We also have new hours! The Out will be open an hour later each day. Also, in the next few weeks we'll be launching our new wine list in the restaurant as well. And of course we have our Friday night wine tasting this week too. |

We'll be tasting some interesting wines from all over the globe this week. Two of which we've just put on sale in out store. These wine are awesome values!

Civello Pinot Gris
Sexier than Pinot Grigio as described by the winery. This pinto gris from Monterey, California has an aroma of lemon peel and nuts. The taste is crisp, but full and dry.

Castello Monseran Garnacha
The rich ripe fruit is complemented by intriguing aromas of sweet tobacco and spice. It's ample and mouthfilling on the palate with chewy tannins and just the right acidity to give vitality to the finale. This is one of the best value reds in the store, with plenty of fruit and spice and a satisfying dry finish. Great everyday red!

Homegrown Family Harvest Red Blend
I don't normally like wines with silly pictures on the label that don't say where the wine comes from. But I love this wine! As it turns out most of the fruit comes from Sonoma, its a blend of Petite Sirah, Syrah and Barbera by the way. It has very strong notes of blackberry on the nose that come through in the palate. It has just enough backbone and acid to give structure to the fruit. This is my summer barbecue red.

Calistoga Cellars Napa Cabernet
This rich deep rose colored Cabernet from Napa, California is full-bodied, clean and smooth. On the nose wafts chocolate, oak and herb. Great flavors of plum, tobacco, and intense cherry do a tap dance on the tongue. Concentrated and complex with silky smooth tannins.

Bell Wine Dinner
Thursday June 11
Anthony Bell of Bell Wine Cellars will join us for an intimate five course dinner. Anthony Bell is one of my favorite winemakers in California. He was winemaker with BV for many years and has been working with the Department of Agriculture doing clonal research of the Cabernet Sauvignon grape and it's many clones. Suffice it to say, he is a wealth of knowledge. But he's also a fun guy to be around with a witty sense of humor.
