Terry Adams picGratitude is our Attitude!

The Arts Festival is exactly four weeks away, and when I see our offices buzzing with dedicated volunteers, sponsors, board members, supporters and staff members, I'm constantly reminded by the breadth and depth of the passion surrounding our organization. Words alone could never express my gratitude to all of you for helping make Colorado's Signature Cultural Event, the Cherry Creek Arts Festival, a reality and the success that it is to so many.

Adding to that success is without doubt our world-class family of visual, culinary and performing artists. To all of you, I extend my thanks and appreciation for all you're about to do in preparation for your journey to Denver's Cherry Creek North! Safe travels to you and best wishes in your month of preparation.

Sincerely,
Terry Adams
Executive Director, Cherry Creek Arts Festival

You're Invited:
2010 Poster Signing Party!

FREE EVENT!
Tuesday, June 8, 2010, 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
FASTFRAME of Cherry Creek
255 Clayton Street, Denver, CO

This annual tradition highlights the commemorative poster art and truly kicks off the Arts Festival month. The Arts Festival's Official Framer, FASTFRAME of Cherry Creek, hosts the party. The original poster artwork is unveiled and the artist is present for guests to meet and to customize their personal limited edition poster of "La Rambla", a painting by Steven Ward.

The evening is energized with the exciting buzz of the Arts Festival month and is complete with passed hors d'oeuvres and complimentary cocktails.

What's new for 2010: Part 1

103 first-time CCAF visual artists!!
An unprecedented 103 of the 230 juried visual artists for 2010 are first-time  exhibitors at the CCAF. This is particularly impressive considering the artists were chosen in a blind-jury process from 2,250 artist applications, making the CCAF one of the most competitive art shows in the nation. Artistic excellence of original, handcrafted work is the sole criteria for selection of exhibitors. The only artists exempt from the jury are the 12 award-winning artists from the previous year, and the commemorative poster artist from the previous year. Contributing to the competitive nature and high levels of art excellence are actual artist sales (in excess of $2.3 million for 2009) and consistently high national festival and visual artist rankings.

Cultural Pavilion
To help kick-off the 2010 Biennial of the Americas, this year's CCAF will include a Cultural Pavilion featuring presentations, demos and workshops from Japan, Latin America and Africa. On Saturday, ambassadors from Denver's sister city, Takayama, Japan, will present events including a Musical Theater Demo, a Kimono Workshop, and a Sencha Green Tea Service. Sunday will feature Latin American dance presentations including Folkloric Ballet and Belly Dance Art. Finally, Janus Student Art Buying Program presentations and African Dance will wrap up the Cultural Pavilion on Monday.
