Gone Diving's 5th Annual UWPCC
Saturday October 23rd, 2010

Join us for the Under Water Pumpkin Carving Contest at Rosario Beach. 9am instructions and rules. Carving to begin at 10am. Must bring your own pumpkin - NOT pre-traced! If you would like to pre-order a T-shirt, we are taking orders now! This is such a fun event for both divers and non-divers. The non-divers are going to be the judges and helping the divers get in and out of the water.

Learn to Scuba Dive and Travel the World!
Get your Scuba certification which will be your passport to under water adventure!

Open Water Class:

(First step in learning to dive, rated to 60ft)

November 12-14th / 20-21st.

 Weekend class is held over two weekends. Independent study material must be completed before the first day of class. Allow yourself up to at least one week to complete the homework required for the completion of the class. Classes fill up fast and are limited to 8 students.

Next Open Water Class: December 3-5th / 11-12th.

Advance Open Water Class: October 16-17th

(Next step, rated to 100ft) 
Saturday 16th: 3 introductory specialties:
Underwater Navigation: learning how to use a compass underwater so you will be able to getting an understanding how to navigate under the water safety.

Search & Recovery: learn how to use an expanding square to find a lost object. Rigging and using a lifting device to find said object and swimming with it back to your starting point while using underwater navigation.

Peak Performance Buoyance: learn how to properly weight yourself and swim with less effort, increasing your logged bottom time

Sunday 17th, 2 introductory specialties:

SeaDragon Charters
Deep Dive: plan on how to make a safe deep dive with the proper air supply and the learning the dangers of diving at deeper depths.

Drift Dive: the best thing ever, boat diving with a drift dive. Your drop in and dive and the boat comes and picks you up. Learn how to drift comfortable and safety.

The Advanced class is done over 2 days with 5 intro specialties dives to be completed.


Rescue Class; Tuesday, November 30th, 6:30pm:
Every diver should know how to respond in an emergency, but the primary benefit of this class is that it will teach you to be responsible for your own safety. Diving accidents are often predictable, therefore avoidable if divers and dive professionals use their common sense and basic dive training. You must be First Aid/CPR certified, have logged 20 dives and be a advanced rated diver in good health. November 30th is the first night of classroom. There is an additional pool session and one day of open water dives.

 

Non-Diving Education:

 Emergency First Response - First Aid and CPR  Tuesday, December 7th, 6:30pm
Take a step toward emergency preparedness and meet the Rescue Diver prerequisites with Emergency First Response. As one of the foremost international CPR and first aid training companies, Emergency First Response gives you the confidence to respond to medical emergencies -- not just in the diving world, but in your every day world with your family, friends, neighbors and coworkers too.
Emergency First Response courses encompass:
· CPR for adults, children and infants
· First aid for adults, children and infants


Specialty Classes*

Dry Suit Speciality: October 21st,

Thursday @ 6:30pm,
Have you been wanting to get your dry suit certification? One day in the pool for an orientation dive, and then we go on an open water dive. This is a great class to get introduced to diving in the Pacific Northwest if you are new to the area. The open water dive will be determined on pool session night for the following weekend.

Enriched Air (Nitrox) Specialty: October 26th, Tuesday @ 6:30pm
Designed to qualify recreational divers to use enriched air "nitrox" (EANx) for no stop recreational diving. The program addresses the use of enriched air with 22 to 40 percent oxygen, with emphasis on nitrox with 32 and 36 percent oxygen. This class is just one night of classroom learning! Must have your books and DVD watched and completed before the night of classroom.

Night Diving Specialty: October 30th, Saturday
What a Pre-Halloween treat, spend a spooky night under the water. This is a 3 dive specialty, must have primary light, backup light and marker lights.

U/W Navigation Specialty: Nov. 6th, Saturday
Spend some time learning how to navigate under the water. You will learn to be more comfortable and confident leading dives after learning how to properly navigate under the water. This is a 3 dive specialty, must have compass and slate.


Review, Learn or Discover Diving

Discover Scuba: Oct 21st, Thursday @ 6:30pm
Interested in learning to dive but not sure what scuba is about? A fun and affordable Discover Scuba session is the answer! Limited to only 4 people. Sign up now, spaces fill up fast. Minimum age is 10 years old.

Basic Refresher: Oct 21st, Thursday @ 6:30pm
Been out of the water for awhile and tired of missing out of all the fun we are having? Get in the pool for an hour to get a basic refresher before going out to the open water. Sometimes all it takes is to just get under the water to get back on track. Space limited, call for pricing and availability.

Scuba Review/Tune-up: [Class time TBD upon students/instructor schedule.]
If it has been more than two years since you have been in the water, we recommend a more in depth Scuba Review/Tune-up. One night of pool, classroom and an optional open water dive. Call for an appointment.

Horseshoe Bay, Canadian Dives
North Vancouver on the SeaDragon
October 17th @ 10:30am
Come join us for two amazing dives north of the border! We will be diving off Sea Dragon Charters premier boat, The Topline. Which is a boat designed by divers, for divers. So prepare to be spoiled. The dive boat will be leaving out of Horseshoe Bay, North Vancouver, Canada. Enjoy the beautiful views of our little paradise of islands right here in our back yard! It is a truly amazing day.

Meeting at Gone Diving @ 6:45am on the road @ 7am. If you already live north of Bellingham, you can met at the dock at 8:30am, in front of the BoathouseRestaurant.

If you need rentals or tanks, please arrange to pick them up during shop hours, 11-6pm, M-Sat. You can pay $10 to have your tank refilled if you only want to bring one tank with you.

PADI Bubblemaker
Bubble Makers
October 21st @ 6:30pm
If you have a child between the age of 8-10 years old interested in learning to discover scuba diving, this is the class to sign them up for. We have gear fitted for the smaller size adventures. This class is limited to 2. Bubble Makers are limited to the shallow end of the pool.

Seal Team
October 21st @ 6:30pm
Already had discover scuba experience and want more? The PADI Seal Team is for young divers who are looking for action-packed fun in a pool by doing exciting scuba AquaMissions. Before each pool session they have to watch a DVD lesson and fill our their workbook. They have to be prepared for class to preform their Aqua Mission, and get their log book signed off from completed missions. 

Students will need to have purchased their crewpak, mask, snorkel and fins teaching them the responsibilities of taking care of their own scuba equipment.


All dives are done in the swimming pool and are credited towards their Jr Open Water certification.
