GREETINGS MCC NOVA!

Greetings MCC NOVA! I'm honored to be in Fairfax to serve as your Intentional Interim Pastor for the next year. There are no words to fully express my gratitude for the hospitality you have shown me upon my arrival. I was so blessed by the "Pound the Pastor" offerings which have come in handy as I continue to get settled in my new space. As our journey continues, I look forward to getting to know you and hear your stories about your journey to MCC NOVA. During our time together, we'll continue to share inspiring worship services, discussion groups, ministry team gatherings, and hopefully some playtime together. Clearly, MCC NOVA has been an important part of this community for over 31 years and I believe we have something to share with current and future MCC NOVA seekers.

June is Pride Month!

Capital Pride Parade
Saturday, June 9, 4:30 pm
Assemble at 22nd and P Streets, NW

The contingent color/number for the MCC/Unity group is Orange #14 which will meet up at 23rd Street, NW, between M and N Streets NW, beginning at 2:45 pm.

If you are taking the Metro to the parade, the closest station is Foggy Bottom-GWU (Blue/Orange Line). Coming out of the station, turn left and walk up 23rd Street NW to Washington Circle. Cross the circle or go around it and keep walking on 23rd Street NW until you get to M Street NW. Parking will be extremely limited in the area, so please try to get there by public transportation if possible.

Parade step off  is at 4:30 pm and walking time is approximately one hour - 90 minutes. We are in the second section of the Parade this year, so we will probably start walking around 5-5:30 pm. The parade ends at 14th and N Streets, NW. Water will be available for the group and the walking banner.  You are invited to wear a funny or unique hat as we are going for the Lady Ga-Ga Award!

MUSIC NOTES from DANIEL SCEARCE

music notes

As you know we have been without a pianist since January, and while I have been doing my best to play since then, it is so good to finally announce the newest member of the music ministry staff.

It is with great pleasure, I welcome Jorge Martinez to the music ministry team and staff of MCC NOVA.  Jorge has accepted the position as keyboard accompanist as we are so happy to have him.  WELCOME Jorge!   Can you tell I am excited???   You can check him out on this youtube video at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gAwUfE07ce8lr=1feature=results_video

Well...  Its summer, and yes I have actually started planning the Christmas music program.  If you want to sing, there is no better time to start than now.  We would love to add your voice to the group.  No audition required, if can match a pitch, (in other words, you aren't tone deaf) and you want to sing with us, we'd love to have you.  We rehearse on Sunday afternoon from 12:30 - 2:00. Come talk to me if you have an interest.

Make a JOYFUL noise!
