FAIRFAX BLITZ
Sunday, August 19, 2:00 pm
Our next ministry to the beautiful residents of Fairfax Nursing Center (FNC) is Sunday, August 19. We've had a great time. One resident said, "I don't know what I would have done without you; I had no cup for my water (and we got him one)." Please help us share Christ's love to others. There are two floors of 'regular' patients at FCN, one Alzheimer's floor, and one rehab (short term) floor. We will meet at 2 p.m. after the Lunch Bunch.
If you have not received orientation at FCN, still come, and we will put you with someone who has already gone through orientation and visited. For any questions, please call Doug Hansen at 703-999-2882, or e/mail at s1gnal@cox.net.
Hope to see you August 19. Many thanks and love to you all.
SEPTEMBER IS "JAM" MONTH!
YOU are invited to come out and have some fun making music with the band! InCluesion is taking a short vacation from playing on Sunday's during the month of September but we just can't stay away from our music. We are planning on getting together every Wednesday just for the pure fun of it! It does not matter if you play an instrument or not. Come join the fun. We will be jamming every Wednesday from 7:00 - 9:00. You can come for all or just a part of the evening. Come try us out. We can make beautiful music together! If you have any questions, please see Kala, Kathleen, Cathy, Kelli, Pepe, Yvonne, Donna, Colleen or Gail.
GOT JUICE?
Poems come from many places in the mind, heart, and body-humor, pain, grief, pleasure, and spiritual contemplation, just to name a few. All of these can be sacred. If you have a poem that comes from a sacred place, we'd like to feature it in the MCC NOVA Poets' Corner. At first we'll focus on poems created from the words on the "Poetry Power Strips" that are available in the fellowship hall. Use the words on the strips to craft a poem and send it to the church e-mail address, info@mccnova.com, or give your work to Gail Schulte. Include your name if you like, and also indicate if we can share the poem online and on the church bulletin board. Let those creative juices flow!
LIVING THE QUESTIONS: Continues
Section 2: Tuesdays -- July 10- August 14 at 7 pm.
Section 3: Tuesdays -- September 4, 11, 18, 25 at 7 pm.
Email us at info@mccnova.com to let us know you're interested. Course materials will be distributed by email unless otherwise requested. For more information, visit http://www.livingthequestions.com or see Ginny Miles/Rev. Kharma.
