We've generally fallen in love with Tempranillo at Art of the Table.  When we taste quality wines of Spanish persuasion
it's difficult to say no to a Tempranillo.

Here are the favorites you can taste today!
Tres Tempranillos To Taste

Vina Gormaz Ribera del Duero

From 50 year old ungrafted Tempranillo vines, this is an excellent value!  Unoaked and all fruit, this sports aromas of earthy plum, black currant, mineral and spice.  On the palate it's medium-bodied with ripe, layered flavors, smooth tannins and nice balance.  This is a great spring/summer Spanish wine for firing up the grill.  Serve at around 65 degrees and it will really show beautifully.

"Pruno" by Finca Villacreces" ~ Ribera del Duero

What I would call "new world" styled Spanish wine.  It's chocolatey, slightly jammy and a whole lot of flavor.  What is most interesting is the underlying "old world" characteristics...leather, cedar spice and earth tones.  I'm a fan all the way.  At this price, I say it's really hard to find this complex of a wine.

$19.25

Condado de Haza ~ Ribero del Duero

Oh, Spanish beauty in a bottle, how I love you.  This is really delicious, wine friends.  This here wine sees 18 months in new American oak, and an additional 6 months in the bottle before being released.  The nose has plum, cherry, anise and faint coffee bean aromas.  The palate continues with cherry and anise,

with additions of cedar, and firm strawberry.

I would drink this wine every single day if I could.
