Summer is peeking out!
| |
Being an avid outdoors-person and a craft beer lover certainly can have its complications. I love setting up camp for a few days, fishing, hiking, reading, kayaking, relaxing, exploring...the list goes on. I also like a well crafted beer out in nature as well.
The problem: Bottles are breakable, and that's bad for the land I love.
Solution: Buy craft beer that comes in cans!
It's exciting that more breweries are putting their slaved-over product into a can for us finicky and "pretentious" beer lovers that happen to enjoy a few nights in the woods as well.
Not an outdoors-person? Not to worry! Canned craft beer is perfect for summer grill outs, pool side sipping and it gives you an awesome excuse to pull out that neon coozy you've missed since you switched to the force of craft beer.
...and no more broken bottles at your next back yard bash...yay!

Cans In La Cooler

Keweenaw Red Jacket Amber Ale ~ MI This is a crisp, refreshingly bitter hopped ale with thirst quenching carbonation. There are some sweet malts on the palate, very subtle and pleasing. This is a really great product hailing from the U.P. Pretty tasty paired with potatoes, onion, garlic cloves and chunks of Nostrano sausage wrapped up in tin foil and slow cooked over the coals of an evening fire for a few hours.
Capitol Brewery Island Wheat ~ WI Remember those wheat beers we were talking about last year? Yup, this is a good one too and we stock it in cans. Lemon freshness immediately hits the palate with crisp carbonation and a refreshing clean finish. This is one of my favorite summer beers in a can. Perfect for when you catch a nice Brooke Trout and find a few morel mushrooms in the spring.
Brooklyn Lager ~ Brooklyn, NY This is available in both bottles and cans. This is also that summer sipper you've been waiting for. A crisp Vienna styled lager with English dry hopping, making it uniquely American. The body is a light auburn, with a slightly hoppier bitter character than a typical bottom fermented beer. It's not as intense as say Victory Prima Pils, but it is noticeable. Also, you won't find skunk in this beer. Nice and clean and easy to drink.
*** Guess What? Our friends and neighbors at Brewery Vivant will soon have their finely crafted Belgian styled beers in cans! That's right everyone, they too are canning instead of bottling. Very cool. If you haven't made it down there yet, we highly recommend it.
