Folesano wines from Italy

4-7pm

folesano

Today's wines remind us of travelling in Tuscany, where the vines are lush and green, the hills are rolling and the framework of the towns is stunningly old and quaint.  Because of their natural vinification aging process, these wines taste just like I experienced in Italy a few years ago.  They're so real and the character is rich.  At this tasting we will offer the white which is 100% Albana grape (yes, you should try it!), the rosso, 100% sangiovese AND the higher end reserve (YES, we're tasting the higher end reserve too!)

made with 100% merlot.

I really can't stress enough how cool it will be

to be here for a sampling TODAY!

Taste Tomorrow!

The first time I had Cypress Grove's Humboldt Fog goat cheese, I was silenced.  It is so wonderful on it's own, spread on a hunk of crusty bread with a simple glass of red wine...

But adding to it's wonderfulness is its versatility!

San Silvestro "Dulcis" Moscato d'Asti ~ Italy

A beautiful sweet wine with a little sparkle to it.  Flavors of orange blossom, fresh flowers and hints of honey make this wine finely ripe for consumption with dessert, especially Goat Cheesecake with Figs!

Undone Dry Riesling ~ Germany

A unique wine to pair being that we would normally pick a semi-dry Riesling to pair with a cheesecake, but this is really striking a fancy.  The bone dry acidity cuts through the weight of the cheesecake and the floral aromas and flavors compliment the density of the dessert.

Sichel Sauternes ~ France

Certainly my favorite sweet wine, and also often regarded so by "the experts".  Sauternes is uniquely sweet and terroir driven at the same time.  The minerality and slight herbal tones are always surprising and wonderful.  Enjoy with this wonderful cheesecake, or just sip on some when the mood strikes. (keep it in the fridge and it will stay fresh for a really long time!)
