We don't really spend time talking about cider. Actually, we tend to forget about it all together. I find this sad, because in actuality...hard cider is awesome!
It comes in a variety of styles, from sweet to dry, seasoned and just straight up. We have some great stuff being produced here in Michigan, and also classics from around the world.
If cider isn't something you consider your thing, do a little research, you might find out something interesting you didn't know about yourself.

Magners ~ Ireland With dedication to quality and tradition, Magners only presses fallen apples and uses over 17 varieties. Magners also ages their cider up to 2 years, tasting it along the way to deliver a quality and consistent product. Often served on ice, the flavor is certainly apple with a touch of yeast and a nice carbonation. Magners is the only Irish cider in the U.S. and it is gluten free.
Strongbow ~ England A canned favorite with staff and customers alike here at Art of the Table. Dry and one of the most refreshing drinks around, Strongbow is a classic with a classic recipe. Also gluten free. Aspall Dry English Draft Cider ~ England A truly dry cider from England, with crisp carbonation and a lush mousse in the mouth. The flavor is that of fresh harvest apples and the body and finish linger for quite some time. One of the more interesting ciders in the fridge.
also... We are anxiously awaiting the arrival of Dupont Organic Cider from France! It's the driest of dry, and wonderful. Keep checking back, it should be here any day now.

Black Star Farms Hard Cider ~ Michigan From the Leelanau Peninsula, this is a cider with a touch of the sweeties, but a healthy flavor of Michigan apples. Crisp and a little sweet and creamy on the finish, complexity and easy drinkability are the highlights of this fine cider.
J.K. Scrumpy ~ Michigan J.K.'s is an organic Scrumpy cider made in good ol' Michigan. From Almar Farms in Flushing, MI, dedication and quality are also key factors in this cider. Again, slightly sweeter and distinctly Michigan. The Solstice is the same Scrumpy cider with fairly traded spices and a touch of maple syrup from their very own maple tree. Delicious stuff with an outrageous following. Try it right away if you haven't yet. Also gluten free.
Ace Pear Cider ~ California Ace Pear is a pear cider with a hint of real Madagascar vanilla added in. It is dry without being barnyardy or bitter. The mouthfeel has a nice mousse to it, but it dissipates quickly and leaves your mouth feeling clean. This is one of my favorite ciders produced in the U.S.
