Wine Talk by Art of the Table

Well, we did it again...we bought it all!

The distributor and winery decided to end their relationship.  So Amy, as a big Macchia fan, decided to purchase it all.  A few years back some great friends introduced us to the winery and we went on a tour, tried all of their wines, including those in the backroom tanks, and Amy fell in love immediately.  Not everyone is a fan of Zinfandels on a regular basis, but Amy is.
And you very well might be too!

Macchia is a really small operation out of Lodi, California and they specialize in honest to goodness Zinfandel.  Let me tell you, this is the good stuff.  Early in the game, Lodi wasn't highly regarded as "great wine" land, but Macchia knew better, and they still do.  Zinfandel thrives and it remains a good deal to those privy - It's been said that wines of this ilk from a different appellation of California would be $75 a bottle.  Macchia professes,
"Our Zinfandel wines are known for being rich, full bodied, smooth and jammy; while some are spicy."

So the deal is here.  Typical 'online' discount prices on these 3 Macchia wines sell from $27-$42, but what we've done is priced them all at $22!

We are also offering fun gift packages of the wines.  Buy two different labels and we'll throw in a description of each and a gift box - packed and ready to give for no extra charge!
You know, gifts!  It's beginning to look a lot like...
Macchia Zinfandels

All wines below are available in limited quantities,

are $22 a bottle (prior to any case discounts you can receive!)

and are best paired with a fireplace and good friends

(I'm doing research and finding it's 100% fact)

  • Macchia "Adventurous", Amador County

Zinfandel grapes from the Linsteadt Vineyard in Amador County make this wine highly concentrated with plum, vanilla and hints of spice.  The alcohol is advertised at 16.1% by volume, but the wine is shockingly balanced.  When tasted, I expected this to be lower in alcohol than the rest, but as it stands...it's up there with the rest of 'em. Great wine from a great vineyard.

    Macchia "Serendipitous", Lodi

Not just another old vine Zinfandel from Lodi.  The grapes that make up Serendipitous are considered "Late Picked".  Mind you, not late harvest, just picked a little later than the rest so the fruits just begin to over ripen.  This results in a very round wine with raisin qualities, but still maintains fruit integrity.  Pairs wonderfully with soft bleu cheeses from France.

    Macchia "Flirtatious", California

100% Zinfandel blended from California vineyards.  The grapes are all late harvest, resulting in a very over the top, sweet flavored wine.  Chocolate, raisin, port-like flavors and creamy vanilla can loosely define this wine.  Very powerful and incredibly full bodied. The flavors linger on the palate, and the finish is considerably long.  Pair with chocolate cake doused in

    hot fudge and/or a fireplace.
