beer bottles Okay so maybe our way around the German language isn't so great, but our German beers are amazing!

We've got a really nice, carefully picked selection of a range of German wheats and select pilsners.

Besides, it's really really hot out and German beers are great on the steps, after mowing the lawn or with whatever cold thing you wrangled up for dinner.  Stop by and hang out in the walk-in cooler for a little while and mix a six of cold, refreshing beers to take home.

Here are a few selections:

Our German Favorites
Plank Bier-Heller Weizenbock
A straight up great bottle conditioned wheat beer from Michael Plank.  It's full of citrus, clove and muted banana.  Thought sometimes to be a typical hefe style, but rest assured, this is anything but typical.  A huge 7.5% alcohol, but you'd never know unless you were told.  The beautiful balanced flavors are slightly laced with Hallertauer Magnum, and Hallertauer Perle hops settling in at 17 IBU's.  A bit weighty on the palate, but the strong carbonation balances that as well.  Plank Bier was the only non North American brewery to receive a "Best of Award" at the 2006 World Beer Cup.  We think that is pretty darn awesome.

Hacker Pschorr-Weisse
One of Amy's favorites, and honestly it's a beer that is easy to forget, but shouldn't be (it's really, really good stuff).  Extremely honest and clean, it has a really crisp fresh wheat flavor and mellow fruit tones. hacker pschorr Just ever so slightly more hoppy than it's fellow German wheat companions, it adds a very nice complexity that balances and mutes sometimes undesirable earthiness in some wheat beers.  At 5.5% ABV, this is a refreshing, very quaffable beer.

Bitburger-Premium
Germany's #1 draught beer, but we don't always buy what the tasting sheet or website says.  We like to make our own conclusions.  Here is why we think Bitburger is a stand out beer:

Bottom fermented and brewed to a full bodied style.  This is a truly great pilsner.  Uber clean and of course brewed to the German Purity Law.  4.8% ABV, it's light and refreshing,
but not a beer pong beer by any means.
