Where in the World?
Yes, Wine Talk has been sporadic again at best. I have two sort of good excuses why.
I had to go and hone my tasting and traveling skills in Chile and Argentina. The good news for you is many amazing Chilean and Argentine wines & foods are coming your way in the next month (see one below!) Also join me in welcoming a new member to our beverage staff! Brandon Muske is the newest member of our Art of the Table team with great experience in tasting & selecting assorted beverages.
From what I've seen so far, I've confirmed that Brandon's got a great taster and will be more than capable of helping to carry on our Art of the Table tradition of presenting great wines of all styles and prices. Stop by and say hello to Brandon soon!

Once confused with Merlot, Carmenere now hails as the Queen of Chile. As Chile is one of the up & coming wine regions, Carmenere has been getting more play these days in the halls of all the wine stores. This particular label we've stocked since day one because it is lovely.
It's crazy with aroma of violet, black current, a hint of tobacco leaf and tons of coffee. It's soft yet brooding on the palate with expressive herbs & spices and roast espresso flavors.
We love to sell it because it's really affordable yet comes off as elegant and impressive for the money!

I visited Casa Silva winery a few weeks back - here are a few pics. Amy near a wine barrel of choice and note the fresh wine on the rafters. earthquake...
