It's time for spring to spring because all the fresh local cheeses are back in action! Some never left us - like Zingermans and Reny Picot, but Dancing Goat has made its return and new to the store, Traderspoint Creamery from Indiana.

Traders
Point Creamery Zionsville, Indiana Their herd of 60-90 Brown Swiss cows are full time pastured and milked all year long and they
also purchase milk from a sister farm in Southern Indiana. Both farms
are certified organic. The whole milk and Fleur de la Terre cheese are
made exclusively from our 100% grass-fed herd as they believe in
"nourishing the land that nourishes us all." This means preserving the
family farm and continuing the families' legacy of sensible,
sustainable, low-input agriculture.
French-styled fromage blanc is a
soft, farm fresh cheese used for spreading and a base for a variety of gourmet
dishes. We add our own blend of organic herbs and spices to create variations
to this classic, mild yet rich cheese. Our Fromage Blanc comes in plain, garden
herb, and spicy.
Fromage Blanc Plain - No added flavors but strikingly fresh in taste. This staple can be
used instead of butter or as a base for cooking.
Fromage Garden Herb - Blended with a variety of organic herbs, this classic can
be used in scrambled egg batter.
Fromage Spicy
- Organic spices with a subtle, yet robust flavor. This was the first one we dug into this weekend and wow - it's so very flaky and fresh! We spread it on fresh Wealthy Street Bakery sourdough bread. Heavenly!
Fleur de la Terre
Named Fleur de la Terre because it's like a "blossom
from our land" it's a cheese made from organic milk from 100% grassfed Brown Swiss cows.
It's a handcrafted, gently aged cheese with a creamy yet firm
texture and a nutty taste that carries hints of the sweet herbs and grasses
that grow on their rich land.
Mild and buttery, with a pleasingly tangy
after-bite, Fleur de la Terre has an authentic "wash-rind" flavor
that will transport you to a sweeter, simpler time.

Barbara's goat farm is back in action after a nice maternity leave for the goats. They have kidded a bunch of kids and we're looking forward to plentiful cheese all season long!
Currently we have plain goat cheese and two of her grand cow's cheeses - later in the week she will be bringing in the flavored cheeses and some new beautiful medallions - new this year!
