Table Talk by Art of the Table
February 22, 2010
Along with our mini snow storm today, we brought out your first dose of spring.
Three new displays can remind you of the pending (someday) flowers and Easter and such.

One of our new brightly colored displays includes warm drinks like Chai and hot chocolate mixes and homemade marshmallows.  The bright colors on our great new mugs will have you sipping in bliss!

Check out a few of our new exciting products below and
...we've got fun in-store tastings going on this week!
B.R. Cohn Oils
br cohn oilB.R. Cohn has always been a favorite on the domestic olive oil front for me as it tastes just like good olive oil should...like olives!

I've visited those olive trees and love that it's a small family crop in the U.S.

The label pictured here represents their Balsamic & Herb Dipping Oil, popular together with a loaf of fresh bread from next door...
Candles
As you may know, we've always had great taper candles.  People swear by 'em.  They're $2, they have no scent, they burn for 12 hours (unless there are gale force winds), they're smokeless and dripless too.

Last year we added the full lineup of Vance Kitira pillar candles.  They, too, are unscented and burn very cleanly.  A 3x6" pillar candle burns for about 100 hours.

This winter we've added two new candle lines - one of them is a small votive with vibrant colors and another is the highly sought after mini 1/4" candles.  We used to sell many of these in white but now we have colors too!

See how elegant they are in the cupcakes?  mini tapers
Use them for your next birthday, shower or romantic occasion!

...back in the day just a few short years ago they only made 12 designs of greeting cards.

Now Miss Curly Girl has about 25 designs of cards & napkins.

They're awesome because if I need a gift for someone or need to add a dash of humor to someone's day,
I've got it at hand.  Send a card today! curly girl umbrella
Curry Simple!
curry simple Last week I headed home for dinner armed with my package of Curry Simple Masaman sauce - a "mild to sweet Thai coconut curry sauce" and 20 minutes later I was eating authentic tasting Thai food in my own home!

I love to cook Thai very much when I have time on my hands to chop and create an entire meal.  I don't tend to make it regularly, however, in the last week I've have had these sauces twice!

All four of our Curry Simple sauces (plus a coconut soup) are:
  • Made from scratch in Thailand with fresh, natural ingredients including coconut milk and healthy Thai herbs giving it a distinct flavor.
  • Preservative and Gluten-Free
  • sporting 1 year shelf life due to the ingenious shelf bag design!
  • QUICK!

  • For my curry last week I sauteed some chicken and then added potatoes, onion, cauliflower, broccoli and some mushrooms.  I figure I can add almost anything I have in the fridge!  At the very end I squeezed the sauce into the pan with the veggies, let it simmer for 4 minutes & I put it over a bit of rice I made while I chopped.  Voila! Dinner!
    In-store tastings this week!
cheese slate Reasons to come over this week!

Our online calendar is completely updated with our events & tastings, both in-store and at other venues.

This week's excitement comes in the form of samples every day highlighted:

Wednesday & Thursday - Stonewall Kitchens' new dipping & marinating oils.  We'll have fresh bread, you dip.

Saturday - Cheezee Saturday - Apparently if you're planning to relax Saturday, you should put us in your plans to taste cheese.  People love our cheeses and we've got some great new options for you in the coolers!

    Sincerely,

    The Easter Bunnies
