In the last week, Amy has not only been allowed the joy of sitting in her lazy clothes reading cheese and gourmet food magazines in front of a fire, but she's been out "shopping" for the store in Atlanta, setting forth a plan for the future seasons and has found many new things from cards to sauces & dips to amazing linens and serving pieces.  We'll alert you of them as they arrive - we're really excited for new spice here!

We're also here to announce a full calendar of events for these chilly months, so you can take a trek over to see what we have going on at the store or get cozy with us in our small group gatherings to taste things!

This week's big event is a local author visit this Saturday!  Hope to see you soon!

Dirk Hoffius, author
Just Good Food for Good Friends!
This Saturday from 11am - 3pm, come in to meet local author and food fan, Dirk Hoffius, as he serves up some recipes from his book.  His book, brand new from the printing press contains recipes one could make for company and tastes great but aren't "over the top" in preparation and ingredients that impress, like:
  • Tarragon Pickles
  • Steak Diane (using only 7 ingredients besides the steak, all rather commonly found in the kitchen!)
  • Boiled Shrimp in Beer
  • Crustless Spinach Quiche
Then there are the descriptors on the recipes:
  • Serves 8, barely!
  • Serves 1 hungry husband over several days
  • A darn good gloppy dish
Stop in for nibbles and to get your copy of this fabulous book - and have it signed by the man who will tell you with all his heart, "Do what you love and love what you do."  That's what this book is all about.

Tastings!
tastingsWe host tastings of all sorts - many are on our calendar now and many more coming soon!

We'll have in store tastings and great opportunities to taste and experience things outside of the store as well.

Check out the details on an olive oil tasting you shouldn't miss on February 4 - it would be a great early Valentine treat!

ESSN, it's a natural drink
essn New in the store today!

Refresh your thirst without the preservatives or
artificial sweeteners

Drink this sparkling juice chilled and get a burst of hydration and flavor...we could all use a bit of flavor right now, right?

Flavors include
  • Pomegranate & Montmorency Cherry
  • Meyer Lemon
  • Fuji Apple
  • Minneola Tangerine
  • Mango & Passion Fruit (my fave!)
And - we think any of them taste great with a splash of additional soda water and/or vodka to make a great mixed drink!
Stay warm and positive!

Sincerely,
