Hello everybody!!! Thank you sooooo much for all the great emails and feedback after the last newsletter. As fun as it is for me to do these newsletters, I fully realize that it may be just "junk" mail for some of you. In that case, please don't hesitate to remove yourself from the list or send me an email and I will take care of it. It was so great to hear from so many of you after the last newsletter. After 1 month I'm still trying to answer all of your mails. Funny, out of all the great mails from everyone the one that stands out is from a fellow Tokyo musician that took GREAT offense to my newsletter....thought it was very unprofessional of me to send out such a thing. To anyone that might share the same feelings, I truly apologize. But.........^_-

Michael Pronko has recently created a very nice website to introduce the Tokyo/Japanese jazz scene. At Michael's website, you can find live reviews, cd reviews, interviews, list of clubs & venues, jam sessions and much more. Please take a look. Click on the photos above to go to Jazz In Japan.

Recorded this CD for the great young jazz drummer Tiger Onitsuka from Osaka, Japan in January at Sony Studios in Tokyo. In May, we did a CD release tour performing in Fukuoka, Hiroshima, Niigata, Sendai and Tokyo. Tiger joined Kankawa's (B-3) band and the 3 Great Guitars from New York. It really was amazing watching this young man absorb everything around him on stage each night. Tiger had his soccer ball on the tour. So, almost everynight before the gig a soccer game would breakout backstage....what a refreshing change!
Recorded a trumpet solo on composer/producer Norihiko Hibino's composition, "Prelude to Suicide" for Yuki Koyanagi's recent CD. Also, recorded for Hibino on the new video game release from Microsoft, Ninja Blade. Hibino's music is so interesting and fun to play. He uses lots of effects and I'm able to usually play in a very free style. Did this recording session for an old college buddy of mine, composer/producer/pianist Makoto Kuriya's project for Japanese singer Asako Toki and Avex Trax
