PUSD teachers, principals, and administrators, along with PEF's staff and board members, gathered in the McKinley School library on Jan. 25 to honor Joan Fauvre, who retired as executive director of PEF in December.
During Joan's 16-year tenure, PEF raised almost $100 million to benefit the PUSD, its students and teachers. Under her leadership PEF began its popular Summer Enrichment Program, brought a robotics program into the middle schools, and supported school-site health and family centers, among numerous other accomplishments. Joan was serenaded at the event by a number of school principals and PUSD administrators who prepared a light-hearted song in thanks of her dedication to the PUSD and to the children of Pasadena.PEF's staff and board members wish Joan the very best as she embarks on this new chapter of her life.
