I suggested blue linens for the guest tables and dinner buffet and a lime green stripe linen for the bar. Tropical floral centerpieces provided tremendous impact to the decor, and the paper lanterns hanging in the tree was a touch of whimsy (and another dimension of color).
Guests enjoyed margaritas on the rocks, as well as beer, wine, soda and sweet tea (a southern must-have refreshment with dinner!).
And then there was food ... lots of food like a feast! Guests enjoyed chips, salsa, bean dip and fresh guacamole upon arrival ... and then a delicious BBQ dinner including mouthwatering ribs, pulled pork sandwiches, Jamaican Jerk chicken, coleslaw, potato salad, baked beans and harvest salad. To see, smell and taste the BBQ was like sensory overload!
In lieu of a traditional birthday cake, and all of the fuss, the guest of honor selected an assortment of miniature desserts like chocolate brownies, pecan triangles, maple cookies and lemon bars.
