This month's issue of party possibilities features a 'Ritas and Ribs 60th Birthday that I produced last weekend!  This party was fun, festive and really colorful; the food and drinks were outstanding; and the weather was perfect (not bad after 10" of rain)!  A summary of the event details are provided below.  Many thanks to my wonderful client, the Millers, who trusted me, once again, with their special celebration!

As always, thank you for reading my newsletter, sharing comments with me and forwarding it to your friends.  I sincerely appreciate it and look forward to planning your next special event soon!

Getting older should be fun, right?  Absolutely!  That's why I loved this party.  It was casual with a tropical vibe; adding good food, good friends and Bob Marley singing "Don't worry about a thing ..." and the result was one fun celebration!  Here are the details:

I took my design cues from the invitation (not shown) which was casual, had a tall palm tree and blue and green border.

I suggested blue linens for the guest tables and dinner buffet and a lime green stripe linen for the bar.  Tropical floral centerpieces provided tremendous impact to the decor, and the paper lanterns hanging in the tree was a touch of whimsy (and another dimension of color).

Guests enjoyed margaritas on the rocks, as well as beer, wine, soda and sweet tea (a southern must-have refreshment with dinner!).

And then there was food ... lots of food like a feast!  Guests enjoyed chips, salsa, bean dip and fresh guacamole upon arrival ... and then a delicious BBQ dinner including mouthwatering ribs, pulled pork sandwiches, Jamaican Jerk chicken, coleslaw, potato salad, baked beans and harvest salad.  To see, smell and taste the BBQ was like sensory overload!

In lieu of a traditional birthday cake, and all of the fuss, the guest of honor selected an assortment of miniature desserts like chocolate brownies, pecan triangles, maple cookies and lemon bars.
