Last month, I attended an email marketing seminar.  I learned many things like great emails should provide 'water cooler' content; the first Tuesday of the month is the busiest day for sending email campaigns; and nail salons in Richmond are hosting outragious M & M parties (according to the results of their new email marketing campaign).  With a little post-seminar research, I knew I had an intriguing newsletter to write, which I'm now sending on the first Wednesday of the month!
 
This month's issue of party possibilities focuses on M & M Parties, which is an abbreviated way of saying Manicure & Martini Parties!  What a fabulous idea!  Girlfriends gather together to pamper themselves while sipping on cocktails; add a celebration and it's an ideal concept for a pre-wedding party, Girls Night Out or a special birthday. 
 
Ready to host an M & M party?  I've outlined some key ideas below to get you started.  The example is a girls-only pre-wedding party since September starts the busy bridal season but these ideas can be used for any type of M & M party.

Your best friend's getting married and you're responsible for coordinating the pre-wedding girls-only celebration.  Have you considered a Manicure and Martinis Party?  Here are a few ideas to get you started.

Nail Salons
 
Many nail salons will accommodate private parties, especially after work or late weekend afternoons.  Inquire at your favorite salon or check out the Washingtonian 2009 Best Day Spas list for suggestions.
 
Another option is a mobile spa such as Indulge Mobile Spa, that brings the pampering to you and your guests.  How fabulous is that?!
 
Martinis

For this purple-inspired fete, I recommend a Black Orchid Martini (picture above); however, if the bride is one half of a Perfect Pear, then I suggest a Grey Goose Le Poire Peartini.  Another refreshing fall cocktail is the The Vanilla Drop.
