Culinary Competitions
Thanks to the Food Network - and the upcoming movie, Julie & Julia, cooking is cool again! A new crop of culinary venues have recently opened and they go way beyond cooking classes; they cater to private events, too! They offer culinary competitions for birthday parties, bachelorette parties, bridal showers and especially, teambuilding employee events.
Culinary Venues worth checking out:
Culinary Competition example: Cookology offers a Mystery Basket Team Bonding program (designed for corporate groups but can be tailored to many groups). Teams must make two dishes using a basket of ingredients chosen by the chefs. Winning team wins a bottle of wine.
Tip for Corporate Teambuilding Events: Host a culinary competition as described above but take the event two steps further. 1) Prepare extra servings and donate it to a local food bank or homeless shelter and 2) submit a short story with photos to your local media. The potential publicity may pay for the cost of the event - a smart strategy in today's troubled economy!
