Clothespin Dolls ~ For Little Hands
so easy, a small child can make them!
Recently, I needed to help my daughter make some dolly characters to go with a fabric play-mat we had made together. The dolls needed to be easy to construct without any mess of glue or fussy fiddling ~ something that even small hands could handle in case mama wasn't around to assist.
I had just finished taking the clothes off the line while camping and voila!
Step 1: Fold one edge of a square or rectangular piece of scrap fabric (roughly 4" x 5" square) and pin it with the clothespin.
Step 2: Flip the clothespin down.
Step 3: Wrap the left and right fabric corners down to the center
and around the clothespin.
Step 4: Tie a scarf around the doll's neck
using a piece of bias tape, yarn or string.
Optional Step 5: Draw a little face.
Next time your daughter or grand-daughter is wanting to play with fabric, too ~ she can be creative with some of your leftover fabric pieces. My Sweetpea was cutting out all sorts of scenery from novelty prints that the dolls could play in.

Our family had a wonderful time camping in the mountains and because I brought my little Featherweight along, I was able to teach my sweet little cousin how to sew. Here are a few of our summer highlights... ENJOY!
