Hello!
Tough times happen for everyone. They are unavoidable at work and home. The changes, demands and emotions experienced during tough times take a toll on your body, mind, surrounding environments and those around you. Unfortunately, these heavy tolls can affect your work performance and personal happiness. Good news - it is only temporary! How temporary, is up to you. If you respond to your tough circumstances with effective coping and change management strategies, you or your organization will bounce back with greater strength, skills and wisdom. Remember, setbacks pave way for great comebacks.
The key to embracing any tough situation is to accept that change is going to occur. The key to embracing change is to acknowledge the losses that are going to occur. The loss is what hurts most or is most stressful to endure. Whether you are losing a loved one or your comfort zone, you are bringing about an ending. Most people don't like endings; however, beginnings depend on endings. Letting go of the past can be extremely difficult but very necessary if moving forward is what you desire.
7 Tips to Be Resilient:
1. Determine what situations are within your control and which are not.
2. Take care of your health and deal with your emotions.
3. Create action plans, goals and seek support.
4. Convert your negative energy into doing something positive for someone or something else.
5. Laugh at yourself and find someone to laugh with.
6. List the positive outcomes and lessons learned.
7. Find peace by realizing the situation happened for a reason and that "this too shall pass".
When you embrace your difficult times in healthy ways, you will become more resilient and eventually, happy. Staying worried, confused and afraid for too long will leave you stuck, complacent, miserable and accepting of the status quo. Accepting the status quo gives people and organizations the opportunity to fall behind. You need to find the courage to face your fears, to move yourself forward and to feel your desire to grow. With your determination and focus, as well as effort and time, your tough times will get easier to manage. You are the one and only person that can make yourself bounce back. You hold the power. Do not wait until someone or something is gone. Start today because life is short, and it's never too late to get happy!
To your resilience,
Nancy
