Change happens. Change is good. It happens
everyday, and it's not going to stop. The changes we
face at work and home can temporarily take us down
and off our flow. How we react and adapt to our
challenging times; and more importantly, how we
bounce back afterwards will determine our future
outcomes and attitudes. While many people resist
change, there are tremendous amounts of growth
and prosperity to be gained when we embrace
change.
The fall season signifies many changes in our daily
routines and spirits. Those lazy, hazy, fun days of
summer are over. We are getting back into our fast-
paced modes of school, life and work. For some,
renewed energy and focus take place. For others,
frustration and negativity are the norm. Which path
are you choosing to take? Which one will bring you
greater results and fulfillment?
Assess Yourself: How well do you bounce
back?
- Do I consider myself to be an optimistic, glass 1/2
full person?
- When facing obstacles and challenges, do I
brainstorm for at least three possible solutions?
- Do I accept things as they are and not question
the status quo?
- Do I acknowledge and let go of what I am giving
up from the change?
- Do I embrace moving out of my comfort zone and
changing my routines?
- Do I ask for help, seek support and
additional resources to assist me through
challenging times?
- Do I appropriately say "no" and effectively set
boundaries?
- Do I seek to understand the lessons to be
learned from experiences?
It is well known that every organization and individual
must change and adapt to survive and prosper.
Change at work improves processes and increases
a competitive advantage. Change in our personal
world expands our opportunities to get happy and live
a really great life. When we decide to resist change,
we will become complacent and most likely lag
behind. When we decide to embrace change, we will
become more productive, involved and fulfilled.
During this change of season, fall forward not
behind!
To your getting back in the groove,
Nancy
