?I like to be where the action is. That?s why I
volunteer at the blues festival. It can be hectic. But
it?s very entertaining.?
?Jesse Reding, Wells Fargo employee.
Have fun, help fight hunger and hear the greatest
blues artists in the world. Volunteer at the Safeway Waterfront
Blues Festival, Friday, July 30, through
Tuesday, July 4, 2006.
The Safeway Waterfront Blues Festival is the largest
blues festival west of the Mississippi and the second

largest fund-raiser for Oregon Food Bank.
More than more than 2,200 volunteers are the driving
force behind the festival?s success each year.
OFB still needs volunteers to help with
this year?s five-day festival, particularly on Monday,
July 3, and Tuesday, July 4.

| Letter Carriers Food Drive brings in 1.4-million pounds of food |
 |
|
More than 500 OFB volunteers helped make this
year's National Association of Letter Carriers Food
Drive, the largest one-day
food drive in Oregon and in the nation, a huge
success.
Volunteers sorted and boxed more than 1,401,454
pounds of food that letter carriers collected in just
one day. That exceeds last year's statewide
total of 1,358,819 pounds of food.
?What our letter carriers do on this one day is simply
amazing,? said Rachel Bristol, executive director of
Oregon Food Bank. ?We are grateful for their
tremendous work. We also thank the hundreds of
volunteers who stepped forward to help and the
hundreds of thousands of postal customers who
donated bags of high-quality food for their letter
carriers to pick up on this day."
