  • Northwest NewsChannel 8 Great Food Drive to raise one-million pounds of food.

Dovex just donated 28,000 pounds of high-quality, nutritious apples to the 2005 Northwest NewsChannel 8 Great Food Drive. The apples arrived at Oregon Food Bank's warehouse packaged and ready for distribution to the Oregon Food Bank Network of hunger-relief agencies.

The Great Food Drive, presented by Albertsons and supported by U.S. Bank and NW Natural, is a statewide campaign to raise one-million pounds of food for the Oregon Food Bank Network to fight hunger in Oregon and Clark County, Wash.

If you, as a member of the food industry, see opportunities during March to support the Great Food Drive, contact Bob Morris, food resource manager at Oregon Food Bank, 503-282-0555, Ext. 261.

Small companies make a big difference

A Portland gourmet bakery donates 2,000 pounds of bread each week. An egg farm in Canby donates both eggs and packaging.

Marsee Foods Bakery and Willamette Egg Farms are small companies making a big difference by donating to Oregon Food Bank.
