As part of the broader Six Flags Livable Centers Initiative project, that which includes mixed-use development in an economically distressed area, EDR Group evaluated economic development opportunities for Cobb County, GA, just west of Atlanta. The study area currently contains a mix of older residential and commercial uses, a regional entertainment venue in Six Flags Over Georgia, and a multitude of industrial uses. The team analyzed market support for housing, retail, office and industrial employment, identified barriers to development, and researched the role of available economic development tools and incentives in attracting investment and fostering economic revitalization. For the Missouri State Rail Plan, a strategic framework outlining the development of passenger and freight rail service in Missouri for the next 20 years, EDR Group assessed the statewide economic impacts of the rail system on industries and businesses in Missouri. The firm also examined the economic impacts of existing and proposed passenger rail operations in the state, including proposals for introducing new high-speed rail service between St, Louis and Kansas City.
