Panama Canal Impact on US Ports
EDR Group recently kicked off a major study for MARAD, which will focus on analyzing the effects of Panama Canal expansion on US ports and inland trade flows, and recommend policies that MARAD should consider when evaluating investments in port infrastructure. Responding to the need for Illinois to develop a long-term transportation strategy relevant to the new economy, Chicago Metropolis 2020 recently released a new report titled, 'Building Our Economy: Transportation for a New Illinois," based on research performed by EDR Group and Fregonese Associates. Econ Program Performance Tracking
To better predict and track performance of the Appalachian Regional Commission's grant programs, EDR Group is developing an enhancement to the ARC-LEAP analysis tool. This effort is designed to help evaluate the performance of ARC-funded economic development projects through a consistent approach to measurement of program results. Highway Impact Case Studies (SHRP2)
For the Strategic Highways Research Program )Project SHRP2-C03), EDR Group led a major nationwide study of the economic impacts of highway projects. The $2 million project included development of 100 before and after case studies, and included the development of a website (T-Pics), used for searching and applying those case study findings. For Framingham Downtown Renaissance, Inc. (FDR), EDR Group developed a website to to consolidate access to business market studies, traffic engineering studies, urban design evaluations and cultural arts opportunity assessments for the area.
