SCCS Alumni Ryan Fullarton Charts His Course

Ryan Fullarton In mid-September, former Santa Clarita Christian standout pitcher Ryan Fullarton received a bit of news that would represent a dream come true for just about any young man who grew up playing baseball in Southern California. It came in the form of a phone call from the pitching coach and recruiting coordinator at Pepperdine University.

The call was to inform Fullarton that, despite playing for a high school of less than 200 students, he had earned a spot on the prestigious Waves baseball team.

"I had thrown a bullpen session for them the week before," Fullarton said. "When I got the call he said, 'We're willing to give you a shot ... to see what you have.' I was pretty excited."

6th Grade Science Camp

On Wednesday, October 3rd over fifty sixth grade students embarked on a three day, two night adventure to Camp Ironwood in Newberry Springs, California as part
o
Science Webf SCCS' annual 6th Grade Science Camp.

"The days at Ironwood are packed as students enjoy activity-based classes learning about desert plant life and animals, astronomy, the physics of archery and canoes gliding through the water," said Mrs. Kistler, 6th Grade Science Teacher. "Students have the opportunity to learn about heat and cold, sand and water, deserts and mountains and all the many complex factors that God created to make such a unique environment."  Click here to read more.

September Character Trait - Accountability

accounta'bility (adj) - responsible to someone or for some action; answerable.

Our character trait for the month of September was accountability. This might not
seem like the most prominent trait one would be looking for from a Christian, but accountability is actually one of the most important traits for a believer to pursue... as well as offer. In fact, apart from this AccountSepttwo-way street of accountability, our relationships would be shallow, prone to discord, and lacking biblical love. For this month's focus trait, let's look at two ways accountability can help us live in a manner that is pleasing to God and profitable for one another.

The first way a Christian can apply accountability to his/her life is to pursue it. Remember, we are all born with a rebellious heart toward God and others (Ephesians 2:1-3). Click here to read more.
