Earth Day

Next Friday, April 27, is our SPX Earth Day Celebration!

PLEASE NOTE- The parking lot will be closed to ALL cars on Friday, April 27 from 11:00 AM until 3:00 PM.  As a school community we will be celebrating Earth Day with an outdoor Mass and everyone is welcome to join us.

Earth Day Update:

The Student Council is very proud to present St. Pius X School's first Earth Day. Our celebration will begin with lunch at 11:00. Food is being provided by each grade; just like the miracle of Jesus providing enough food for a crowd I have faith that we will come together to create a feast! After lunch we will be cleaning up the grounds and planting marigolds around Mrs. Ohms community garden. The day will end with the celebration of Mass outside in the parking lot. The gates will be locked for the protection of our students. Do not enter the parking lot until admitted. Please send your student to school in jeans and a St Pius or a green tee shirt. (No tank tops) It is a dollar jeans day benefiting the beatification of our grounds. Volunteers are still needed please contact Mrs. Roberson @ stpiusx_roberson@nwoca.net.

Earth Day

Mrs. Roberson is asking for toilet paper rolls for Earth Day bird feeders for the younger grades. Please bring in your rolls next week to the fourth grade room. Thank you!

Earth Day LUNCH

We are asking the help of all students and families for our Earth Day lunch.  Please remember that your child's class is supplying that specific food item for the entire school.  For instance, grade 1 needs to bring in 250 spoons total, grade 5 needs desserts for at least 125 students and grade 7 needs dessert for at least 125 students to feed the total of 250 students. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Roberson or call the school office!

Please bring in the following items:

Pre-K/Kindergarten:   fruit in a cup

(a six pack or 2 four packs)

Grade 1 - 250 spoons total

Grade 2 - Bottle water - 250 bottles total

Grade 3 - Capri Sun - enough for 250 students

Grade 4 - one pack hotdog buns and one pack hamburger buns per student

Grade 5 - Desserts for 125 students

Grade 6 - Family size bags of chips

Grade 7 - Desserts for 125 students

Grade 8 - Paper plates and napkins

Student Council will be supplying the condiments and other necessary items for a wonderful lunch!

KUDOS from Father Whalen...

 Hooray for us!
 Hooray for YOU!
We made our Quota!

While donations to the Annual Catholic Appeal are still most welcome, we have made our goal for this year and with $19.00 to spare. I am most deeply grateful to all those who were part of this endeavor. It proves that while we have many needs here in our own parish we are very much aware that we are part of the wider church, the Diocese. WE care not only for those we see Sunday after Sunday here at St. Pius X but we care also for all those in other parts of the diocese who will benefit from our generosity.

CONGRATULATIONS PEOPLE OF ST. PIUS X!
