Pennies for Patients

Next week, on Monday March 5th at 2:00 in the FLC, we will have a Kick-Off Assembly for our Pennies for Patients campaign. This fundraiser is to benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) and focuses on local children that are battling a blood cancer. This fundraiser will begin 3/5 and end 3/26.

Last year St. Pius raised $1,154.13! This year we have increased our goal to $1,300.00. St. Pius has taken part in this fundraiser for several years now.

Students will receive their own collection box and a letter explaining the LLS campaign. Each class will have a large box to collect donations in. We will also be selling "Paper Pennies" for $1 with supporter's names written on each paper penny and displayed in our hallway. On Monday, March 26th we will have a dollar jeans day for the LLS.

The top collecting class will have a pizza party (provided by the LLS). We will also reward the class with the most "weight" of coins collected with a snack day.

Classes will have other opportunities to earn "pennies" for their boxes with trivia questions and guessing games.

PLEASE help St. Pius reach their goal of $1300.00 by gathering up your spare change to help local kids that need our support. Check out the poster displayed by the school office of the 30 Honored Heroes the LLS has chosen for this year's campaign.

Third Grade Brownies
Maria Richard
Our third grade Brownies had guest, Jane Boone, to share her career story. We earned a badge by the same name..."Her Story." Currently, she carves from wood and hand paints ducks. She prepared these ducks for the 3rd grade Brownies and guided them on the painting.

Accrediting Survey

All schools in the Diocese of Toledo are chartered and accredited by the state of Ohio and the Ohio Catholic Schools Accrediting Association (OCSAA). St. Pius is approaching the beginning of our next phase of accreditation and to help us with the future planning of our school, we are asking you to go the link below and take the short survey.  St. Pius X School is a firm believer in partnering with our parents in the education of our children and in their faith formation.  Your thoughts and opinions are important to us,

Please take a few minutes to answer the questions and then add comments at the end if you wish. The surveys are anonymous. In order for you to get credit for participating in this survey, please add your child/children's grade in the last comment box.   We thank you for your support is this very important endeavor.

Auction Update

Saturday, February 25 was yet another night to add to one of the many successful events at St. Pius X School.  The 15th Annual St. Pius X Dinner Auction, Puma-Matata, was held in the Family Life Center.  Attended by over 200 guests, the event had something there for everyone.  Heartfelt thanks goes out to each and everyone who attended the auction, donated to the auction, helped with the auction, etc., etc.  Without the help and cooperation of the many, many families and friends of St. Pius, we would not have been able to continue the tradition and raise the thousands of dollars that we did to benefit our students.
