Christmas Vacation
by Lillian Buck, Grace Miller, Jada Moore and Suzie Kohli

St. Pius students do very fun things on Christmas vacation.  We took a survey of all the 2nd graders and many other students.  The opinions were:

1.  Going to your grandmother's house

2.  Decorating the Christmas tree

3.  Going ice skating

4.  Praying at church

5.  Putting up Christmas lights

The winner was going to your grandmother's house.

St. Pius Student Makes a Beautiful Donation

Aniela Montiel, first grader, shared her beautiful hair with Locks of Love.  Locks of Love is a non-profit organization that provides hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children in the United States and Canada under the ages of 21 who suffer from long-term medical hair loss.  Aniela had 12 inches of her beautiful hair cut off and then donated it to this worthwhile cause.

Aniela, St. Pius is so very proud of your willingness to share

PLEASE!!!!

Geography Bee Finalists

Geography Bee winners:  Garrett Culkowski, Zachary Miller, Francis Keller, Tanner Aschemeier, Jared Prange, Jacob Linenkugel, Chris Hack, Nik Miller, Briana Palmer and Gregory Fretti.

Geography Bee Finalists

Every year the St. Pius X Middle School students fine tune their geography skills and compete in a Geography Bee.  Three finalists are selected at each grade level and then these nine students compete against one another to earn the opportunity to take a written test which could then qualify the winner to compete on a state level.  Mrs. Ohms and Mrs. Nachazel guided the students through the challenging questions this past Wednesday before students, classmates and parents in our Family Life Center.  We are happy to announce that Francis Keller, grade 8 will take the written test and represent St. Pius X School.  Jacob Linenkugel and Gregory Fretti placed second and third respectively in our local match.

St. Pius X Snow Day Guidelines

Winter is here and the snow is coming (or so they say!)  So, if we do have a SNOW DAY and it is necessary to cancel school for the day, please watch your televisions and listen to your local radio stations.  St. Pius X School follows TOLEDO CATHOLIC SCHOOLS.  If you hear this mentioned, it means that we will not have classes.

If there is a delay, please follow the same procedures as before.  When there is a two-hour delay, school doors will open at 9:30 AM and school will begin at 10:15 AM.

We will also send out a HONEYWELL alert once we are notified of any weather delays or closings.  If you have any questions, please class the office.
