           7th Grade Boys Basketball Champs

The 7th grade boys basketball team participated in the Regina Coeli Holiday Tournament that was held on December 26-28.  The first night of the tournament they defeated the Blessed Sacrament Chargers and moved on in the bracket.  The second night, the team defeated Regina Coeli in a very close game.   The lead went back and forth during most of the game.  With 18 seconds left in the game, the Pumas were down 30-27 and it did not look like they would be in the championship game on Wednesday.  Jacob Linenkugel took the ball down the court from the Eagles basket toward the Pumas basket and took a 3 poinnt shot at the buzzer making the shot.  The game was now tied and forced an overtime.  During the three minute overtime period, St. Pius scored five more points and won 35 - 30.

On night three, St. Pius beat St. Joan of Arc 37 - 30 to take the tournament championship.  All the players did their best working as a team.  The 7th grade team is coached by Greg Kwiatkowski and Jeff Linenkugel.

Winter Reminder

Just a reminder..winter is finally here and baby, it's cold outside

And because it is cold outside, all students in all grades need to wear COATS, HATS, and GLOVES.  A sweatshirt is not a coat.  Please help us help your children to stay healthy, warm and enjoy their recess time.  Please remind the students to wear the appropriate outer wear to school!

Introducing Mrs. Robert Ohms...

Many of us have had the honor and pleasure of knowing Ms. Jen Bine, our 5th grade teacher.  Over the Christmas break our very own Ms. Bine became Mrs. Ohms when she married Bob Ohms in a beautiful ceremony on Friday, December 30th here at St. Pius X Church.
Congratulations to the newly weds as they begin their new life as husband and wife!
Uniform Clarification
St. Pius X students:  Please remember that tennis shoes are worn on gym days only.  Our gym days are Tuesday and Thursday.  School dress shoes, brown or black, should be worn on all days that are not gym days.  Also, with the weather and rain and snow and ice, please remember that boots are not permitted in the classroom.  You need to change from your boots to shoes once you are in the buidling.  Thank you for your help and understanding.

Tissues, Hand Wipes and Hand Sanitizer

With the cold weather comes the sniffles, coughs and sneezes.  Please help us to help all our students and encourage the use of tissues, hand wipes and hand sanitizers in the classrooms as well as at home.  The classrooms are always in need of these items so if you can add us to your grocery list and send in a box or two to your child's respective classrooms, we would all appreciate your generosity.
Girls, Girls, Girls...
Ladies, please remember that for safety reasons, only post earrings should be worn to school.  Earrings should lay flat against the ear lobe. There is too much of a risk with the hoop earrings and we do not want any accidents.  Thank you for your cooperation!
Parents and Guardians
If you have a message for your students, please call the office.  We know that many of you have all day access to email and it may be easier for you.  However, our teachers do not always have the time to be checking their email during the day.  An important message could be missed which we do not want to happen so please call the office - 419-535-7688.
