Dear Families of St. Pius X School,

Just a friendly reminder that conferences are scheduled for Monday and Tuesday, November 21 and 22.  Thank you to all of the families that sent in their forms with their requested times for your conferences.  A letter will be coming home next week with your confirmed time.  Also, as a reminder, students in grade 5 are encouraged to attend the conference with their family.  Students in grades 6, 7, and 8 are required to attend and be an active part of their Student-Led Conference.  If you have any questions or concerns, please contact your child/children's teacher.
St. Pius X Swimmers! by Jennifer Crosley

The sport of swimming is not as poplular as some of the other sports here at St. Pius, like football and basketball.  Most people think that swimming is just for fun, but there are five students here at St. Pius that choose competitive swimming as their all time favorite sport.
The youngest swimmer is Jacqueline Gwinn in 1st grade.  She has been swimming for three years with the Lincolnshire Sharks.  Jacqueline enjoys swimming very much and her favorite stroke is freestyle.
The next swimmer is Robbie Adler in grade four.  He has been swimming for a year now, also with the Lincolnshire Sharks.  Robbie picks breast stroke and freestyle as his favorite strokes.
Hannah Crosley is our thrid swimmer who is also in the 4th grade.  She has been swimming for five years.  In the summer, Hannah swims for the Lincolnshire Sharks and in the winter she swims for the Sylvania Tsunami.  She also picks breaststroke and freestyle as her favorites.
Alex Adler, in grade five, has been swimming for five years also.  She swims for the Sharks in the summer and the Tsunami in the winter.  Her favorite strokes are butterfly and freestyle.
Finally, myself, Jennifer Crosley.  I have been swimming for 10 years and for seven of those ten years I have competed on various teams.  I swim for the Sharks in the summer and the Tsunami in the winter.  This spring I look forward to swimming for the CYO Middle School team.  My favorite strokes are breast stroke and freestyle.

Angel Tree
As we are enjoying our beautiful fall, we are also planning for St. Pius X Parish Christmas Angel tree.
We would like to reach out to all of our school families that may need a little extra help this Christmas and who would like to be considered for this project.  Please contact Amy Aubry, aaubry@bex.net or 419-535-7672, etx. 228, to confidentially have your family's name added to our tree.
Snowflakes will be placed on the tree in the Narthex Thanksgiving weekend.

Gym Uniform Order Forms
Please inventory your gym uniforms and place your order using the form that went home on Monday.  With the weather turning cooler, all students have the option of wearing the sweatshirt.  As an addition to the present uniform, we are also introducing a long sleeve gym t-shirt.  If you have any questions, or need a copy of the form, please contact the office.
Author Visit - Steven Michael Harris

This past week grades fourth through eighth had the pleasure of learning that writing can be fun and that every one  has the power to produce quality writing.  Steven Michael Harris used multiple items in his 'life trunk' to inspire the students about his life and writing. His topic, "Embracing Writing in School and Life" hopefully made a lasting impression on all of our students.  Please ask your child/children about some of the highlights that Steven Michael Harris presented.
 Prayer Request
Please remember in your prayers the Eisigner family on the recent loss of their grandma, Paula Letke.  Mrs. Letke was a longtime member of St. Pius X Parish and also a very active support member of St. Pius X School both as a mom and grandma.  We will all miss her.  May she rest in peace!
November 17 , Thanksgiving Lunch
Just a reminder!
On Thursday, November 17, students and staff will lunch together in celebration of Thanksgiving Day.  Students will only need a home-packed snack on that day.  Also, we are in need of help with desserts for our dinner.  You will receive two service hours for your donation.  We need the following:  pumpkin pies, whipped cream and cookies.

Please let the office know what you are willing to donate so we can plan for our special meal!

Lights, Camera, Auction was a Success!

Thanks to all of our St. Pius families and friends, last year's "Lights, Camera, Auction" was a huge success.

Although this year's celebration is not until February 25, it is not too early to plan ahead.   As many of you will be venturing out in the upcoming weeks displaying your 'black Friday' skills and techniques, please consider our celebration this year.  A Christmas Basket filled with goodies, A Building Block Basket filled with legos, Lincoln Logs, etc. or maybe an Italian Feast featuring olive oils, a pasta machine, bread mixes.   The sky is the limit!
