LINEBACKER JONATHAN BROWN WINS BIG TEN HONOR
| |

|
The sophomore from Memphis had seven tackles, including 3.5 for loss. He had an interception to stop an Arizona State drive.
Brown is the first Illini to win the award since Corey Liuget in 2010, who was honored after his performance against Fresno State.

Illini Ranked #22 in Nation
Is This What It Feels Like? 4-0 Must Be Heaven! |
|
Greetings!
If you have been waiting for something to happen, it has! The Illini Quarterback Club wants to ask, if you needed a reason, how does 3-0 sound? We re-did the web site, we've added an eNewsletter,
we tailgate with WDWS and the Illini Nation, we have lunch at the Round Barn and dinner in the Colonnades Club with Coach Zook, we have our own apparel line .... and, now we are 3-0! So, if you have been waiting, if you needed a reason, now's the time. Renew your membership, renew your friendships, renew your support of the Fighting Illini. We currently are over 500 strong, but we miss all of you that have yet to renew. And, to our membership, why not invite a friend to join us and experience this wonderful journey known as Big Ten football, compliments of The Fighting Illini.
We have started receiving orders for Quarterback Club apparel. Our first order came from Seattle Washington. Laurie is coming back for homecoming, will be tailgating with us and said she needed a shirt to show her support. You can go to our web site to place an order or to simply look at what you have to choose from. In a rush, just click this link, Gameday Spirit, and you will find yourself on our web site apparel page.
Have you thought of buying a few tailgate passes and giving them to friends and family. Or, how about passing out a few at work. Most QBC members already have their own tailgates. But, how about all those fans who are looking for someplace to hang out and talk football. We have been letting kids in for free, so two tickets will get a family of four food, drinks and a heck of a great pre-game experience. Not everyone has seen the Marching Illini up close. Yep, that's right. The band stops by for a little added Illini Spirit.
If you are looking for one more way to enjoy your club membership, it is time to start thinking about the club dinners during the Coach's radio shows on Thursday nights before away games. This year, we will begin serving dinner at 5:30. Cost for dinner will be $20 and reservations are definitely required. We are trying something new this year; if you do not want dinner or if you are not a member and you would like to stop by and check things out, there is no charge to attend. There will be a cash bar but no food will be available unless you make a reservation for dinner. More information will be made available in next week's eNewsletter. But, it is time to start making your plans.
As long as we are planting seeds, how about considering a seat on the Quarterback Club Board of Directors. Ask Jim Vasica for details. Our club has a long tradition of support from the Illini Nation. Just check out this list of Past Presidents and see how many names you recognize.
See everyone on Friday and Go ILLINI! |

Who's Speaking this Week
Coach Zook Returns to Illini Quarterback Club. Welcome Back Coach!
If you missed last Friday's Quarterback Club luncheon, then you missed seeing Coach Zook and his passion for this year's team. Yes, they practice hard, yes they play hard and yes they have great leadership on the field. Coach Zook could not hide his excitement about what lies ahead for this team and the Illini Nation. "Play hard tomorrow, you bet! In fact, were going to go out there and kick some ass! We deserve to win because we are a better team", said Zook.
But, in typical Zook fashion, he reminded us that we still had to play the game. And, play they did! Now what? Well, get plenty of rest, drink plenty of fluids and hold on for the ride. Plan on spending the next eight weeks standing, cause the house is rockin and the only way to see the field is while you're on your feet. Did you see the players go up into the student section, after the game. Man, ILL, what a great time to be an Illini! The Illini Quarterback Club acknowledges a job well done to coaches, staff and players. Bring on Western Michigan University !

Coach Zook will once again be this week's featured speaker. How could you tell they were ready? How about that defense? Were you asking that official where he was going for dinner after the game or was it something else you were clarifying? What about WMU? Is everybody healthy?
Joining Coach Zook this week will be former Illini player Josh Norris. After graduation in 2007 with degrees in Chemistry and Math, Josh held the position of Assistant Strength Coach while also serving as an Antibiotic Chemist on campus. Currently Josh is building his own company with support from Carle Hospital and the Mayo Clinic. Welcome back, Josh.
So get there early and bring a friend. |
