Next Opponent Arizona State Ranked #22

Greetings!

Thank you for all of the feedback on the revised web site and our new eNewsletter. Our goal is to keep the eNewsletter topical but not to long. If there is any information that you would like to see in the eNewsletter, just let us know. Here are a few reminders, so that you are getting all of the information that is hidden away within these two communication tools.

  • Friday lunch menus are included down the left side of this document. When you are in the calendar portion of the web site, if you click on the entry for each Friday, you will see that the menu for that week will pop up. This is true for the weekly tailgate menus, as well.
  • Anytime you see a word or words that are underlined, those are live links. In the case of our sponsors, you will be taken to their web sites. Look for those links and you will find yourself at the opposing team's web sites as well as information on our guest speakers.
  • The words across the top of our web site ..... WEB SITE, BE A MEMBER, etc, are all live links to those sections in our web page. So, if you are looking for a quick answer to a question while you are reading the eNewsletter, it is very easy to get the answer.
  • Our web site has live links for ladies day, bus trips, membership and tomorrow, Thursday, we are adding a page and link for our new apparel line.

As a Quarterback Club member, you have access to purchasing west side, row 20, 40 yard line tickets to each game. These are season tickets that the QBC has and we make them available to club members. We only have six (6) seats, we sell them for face value and they are available on a first come basis. What a great way to help out a friend who might be looking for tickets at the last minute.

Don't forget about the Bus Trips. We still have seats for the Indiana trip, but tickets are no longer available. The Purdue game is filling up, so give JJ a call or send him an email. Just follow the link above or click on the link, right here. The trips are great fun and they include transportation, parking, tickets and your meals. You can speak directly with JJ at our Friday lunches.

Plan to attend this week's luncheon. If you have attended the first two lunches, you know we are having great turnouts. This week Coach Zook will be our featured speaker and he will be joined by Fighting Illini baseball Coach, Dan Hartleb. Our goal is for standing room only ... will that be this week? I think I just heard Phil Katsinas say NO WAY! You show up, you'll have a seat! I don't know how he does it. Thank you Phil for your flexibility and all the great food.

On a closing point, make sure you check out the article below on our new apparel line. Game Day Spirit will deliver your purchase to your door or you can pick you can pick up your order at their location on Springfield.

See you at the Tailgate. GO ILLINI!

Who's Speaking This Week
Coach Zook to Appear at this Week's QBC Luncheon

The entire Quarterback Club is excited to greet Coach Zook at this week's lunch. Off to a great start at 2-0, this year's team seems to be focused and playing with a focus. Our coaching staff has worked tirelessly and the results are more than obvious.

Building on the Texas Bowl victory in 2010, Coach Zook, in his seventh year at Illinois, has this team poised for victory . After two wins to kick off the season, #22 ranked Arizona State University comes to town and will present the Illini with our most difficult opponent to date.

The time demands on our head coach are incredible. Player meetings, media interviews, game preparation, recruiting and we can only assume there is a personal life in there somewhere. When Ron Zook was hired at Illinois, Chicago Tribune columnist Rick Morrissey wrote "What Illinois got was a man with enough energy to power a few windmills and perhaps tilt a few in the process. This is a man who needs to stay busy." Thank you Coach Zook for your commitment in supporting the Illini Quarterback Club.

So, get your questions ready. Are we healthy? Who is our most improved running back? What about our defensive secondary? What is your routine once you get home after a game? Okay, that question might not make it to the microphone. Join us Friday and start your pre game routine at this week's Quarterback Club luncheon.

Joining Coach Zook this week will be Fighting Illini baseball Coach Dan Hartleb. What does it mean to our program to have former Illini Kyle Hudson called up to the big leagues? Ask the coach your questions this Friday.

The Quarterback Club is the official fan club for the Fighting Illini football team. Our support provides funding for special projects, as determined by Head Coach Ron Zook. Your membership goes a long way in generating those funds. Special events like the golf outing, our new tailgate tent and the revenue generated by our apparel sales are all sources for generating those funds.

If you are a past member and you have not renewed your membership, we invite you to do so. Plan to stop by for lunch this Friday, stop by the tailgate tent on Saturday and renew your support for this year's Fighting Illini football team. The Illini Nation is excited by what is happening on the football field. Show your support by renewing your membership. GO ILLINI!
