BONUS HOME GAME FOR VARSITY

The game on Friday, Nov 4th originally scheduled for West Van at 3:15, has now been moved to Mercer Stadium at 7:45 pm. This will be the final regular season game of the year, with a possible playoff berth at stake. The Hyacks pee wee team will play beforehand at 6pm.

JR BANTAMS NOW 8-0

The JBs continued their domination of the VMFL this season with a 47-0 win over the Vancouver Trojans Sunday. This was their third time this season, while getting touchdowns from 6 different players. David Penalver, Corky Smith, Brian Cagampan, Jamie Shiho and Marcel Wang each scored a rushing touchdown, while Matthew Thind caught a touchdown pass from his brother Michael. Next week, the team has their toughest challenge yet as they battle the 7-1 Coquitlam Raiders on Friday night at Mercer Stadium.

The Pee Wee's continued their late season surge with a 46-6 win over Vancouver. Cornerback David Osho and Linebacker Sammy Sidhu each returned interceptions for touchdowns. Nathan Hardwick scored four TDs, behind a dominant Hyack offensive line, anchored by centre Thomas ProsperI-Porta, twins Paul and Christian Roadilla, Yanni Angelopoulos, Alex McRae, Isaac Hughes and Anthony Dillman.

After trailing 14-22 at halftime against the Coquitlam Lions, the Atom Orange Hyacks staged a huge comeback with Lucas Burton scoring 3 unanswered touchdowns as the Hyacks pulled out a 40-22 victory. Tyler McRae, Russell Moir and Jordan Freeland also scored. The defence was led by outstanding tackling from Eric Birzneck with Luke Perizzolo picking up a key fumble recovery late in the second half.

TAILGATE AUCTION A HUGE SUCCESS

Taking place for the first time in the fabulous LaPerla Ballroom, the ninth annual tailgate Hyack Football Tailgate Auction was another tremendous success. 150 supporters were in attendance bidding on over 150 outstanding prizes, while MC Peter Battistin, comedian/weatherman Marke Driesschen and auctioneer Terry Hewitt entertained the crowd.

Jason Hanger owner of Red Tiger Martial Arts took home the trip for two to Hawaii (donated by Brent Atkinson & Westjet). Mr Atkinson was also recognized for his 31 years of service as a New Westminster school board trustee and his support of the Hyacks Football program. Gordon Hobbis of Cap's Bicycle Shops had the winning bid for the Grey Cup weekend package, while Peter Neugebauer from G & F Financial Group walked away with a Ryan Kesler autographed hockey stick. There was also a and a 5 day Carnival cruise donated by Odenza Marketing Group. Thanks to all who donated and those who attended event.

Most importantly, this event would not have been possible without the countless hours put in by our auction committee, including Mary Feldhaus, Shammi Ram-Ditta, Stephanie Musgrove, Janice Moss, Mary-Jane Wilson, Pricilla Nichols, Sue Dhaliwal, Cheryl Chan, Terry Brock, Larry and Mara Sawchyn and many others. Also thanks to Orlando Catering and the staff at LaPerla Ballroom for going above and beyond to make this year's auction the best ever.

The Tailgate Auction is our major fundraiser of the year and has raised well over $120,000 in support of Hyack Football.
