HYACKS OPEN LEAGUE PLAY ON FRIDAYFall

After a long pre-season filled with highs and lows, the Hyacks will be back at Mercer Stadium this Friday night to open up the AAA Western Conference schedule against the Carson Graham Eagles. New West finished their non-league September schedule with a 2-2 record, following last week's disappointing loss to Lord Tweedsmuir. Despite the loss, grade 10 QB Tommy Robertson continued to impress, with a pair of TD passes in that game, both to senior TE Jeremy Wilson (below).

Carson Graham is 2-1, following their first loss of the season last Friday to #2 ranked WJ Mouat. QB Darius Lemaire leads the province in passing, averaging 244 yards per game. The Hyacks have had a very challenging and spirited week of practice and are poised for their best effort of the season.

JV'S TO HOST BELMONT THURSDAY

The JVs will also begin league play this week, at Mercer Stadium on Thursday against Belmont of Victoria. New West continues to show improvement, after playing tough with perennial powerhouse WJ Mouat last week. Julian Ramirez and James Sommerfeld scored for the Hyacks. This week has seen the team split the squad for a series of scrimmages and game situations that should prepare them for the tough league schedule that lies ahead.

Please note the time change to a 4:30 kick-off time
