Next up for the Hyacks will be a game against Lord Tweedsmuir on Friday at 2 pm. Please note the early start time. The Panthers are 3-0 after a 23-20 win over Cascade HS in Leavenworth, WA on Friday. Regan Eberding is expected to return for the Hyacks after missing the past 2 games with an injury.

JUNIOR BANTAMS NOW 4-0

 

The Junior Bantam Royal City Hyacks continue to roll, this time with a 50-0 win over Burnaby at Ryall Park. Jamie Shiho returned a punt for one of his two TDs while Adrian Cagampan also scored twice. Declan Baker and Jeff Lugtu were again dominant on defense. All three Royal City teams won their games against Burnaby on Sunday, and none of them allowed a single point.

HYACKS WIN ON HOMECOMINGFall

 

The Hyacks improved to 2-1 against BC teams with a 27-9 win over Mt Boucherie in the Homecoming game on Friday night. Aldrin Asuncion rushed for 137 yards and 2 TDs. Prime Time Sports Player of the Game, Tommy Robertson, rushed for 1 TD and passed to Kevin Sabau for another. In 2 games, Robertson leads the province in completion percentage (68%), having gone 17 of 25 for 235 yards and 2 TDs.

Jordan Chin led the defense with 9 tackles and 2 sacks, and Jonathan He (above) was named Burger Haven Lineman of the game with another big sack and drawing constant double teams. Eric Teng and Thomas Tse also stood out in the defensive secondary. New West is now 6-1 all-time on Homecoming.

There was another big crowd on hand and plenty of alumni support. The BC Skydiving team made another successful landing with the game ball. Thanks to Jayne Adetola for all her efforts in organizing the alumni function.

BEST OFFENSIVE OUTING FOR JV'S

The JVs also took part in Homecoming on Friday, falling 39-21 to Mt Boucherie. But New West was within a touchdown in the final quarter and the 21 points is their largest offensive output of the season to date. Angelo Tanjuaquio, James Sommerfeld and James Nicolas scored TDs for the Hyacks. New West will now travel to Abbotsford on Thursday to take on WJ Mouat at 6:00 PM.Cali


TAILGATE AUCTION COMING SOONAuction

 

Saturday, Oct 22nd is the date for the eighth annual Hyack Football Tailgate Auction, at La Perla Ballroom (River Market at Westminster Quay). We are looking for your support with the following:

Tickets will available online at hyackfootball.com by Aug 30th. The Tailgate Auction is our major fundraiser of the year and has raised well over $100,000 in support of Hyack Football. This is the perfect time for new parents to get involved in this terrific event.
