Hyack alumnus, Vivie Bojilov, is starting at linebacker for the suddenly surging UBC T-birds. Playing in his first season at UBC, Vivie started his 2nd game on Saturday in a 40-30 win over Alberta. The win improves UBC's record to 2-1 as the team was nationally ranked last week after an upset win in Regina. Vivie was the provincial defensive player of the year with the Hyacks in 2009.

"Vivie has been outstanding for us so far," says 2nd year UBC head coach Shawn Olson. "He brings an element of toughness to our front seven and when he hits somebody, they stay hit."

Another former Hyack, Warren Reece, is also playing at UBC, while Ian Henderson and Alex Saavedra are expected to re-join the program in the new year.

All Hyack Football Alumni, this is the game you have all been waiting for! The 6th annual Homecoming game will take place this Friday, Sept 17th at Mercer Stadium against Mt. Boucherie. Another crowd of 1500+ is expected to be on hand including plenty of Hyack grads from all eras. All grads should RSVP to Jayne at:

The Hyacks meanwhile are coming off a loss to Terry Fox last Friday, dropping their record to 1-1 against BC teams. Gr 10 QB, Tommy Robertson, turned in the only TD of the game for the Hyacks, and was impressive in his first extended playing time with the varsity team. Jeremy Wilson and Jonathan He continued their outstanding play this season. Jordan Chin, Serafino Gentile and Tristan Sands also had solid outings.
