BOJILOV HELPS LEAD UBC TURNAROUND
Hyack alumnus, Vivie Bojilov, is starting at linebacker for the suddenly surging UBC T-birds. Playing in his first season at UBC, Vivie started his 2nd game on Saturday in a 40-30 win over Alberta. The win improves UBC's record to 2-1 as the team was nationally ranked last week after an upset win in Regina. Vivie was the provincial defensive player of the year with the Hyacks in 2009.
"Vivie has been outstanding for us so far," says 2nd year UBC head coach Shawn Olson. "He brings an element of toughness to our front seven and when he hits somebody, they stay hit."
Another former Hyack, Warren Reece, is also playing at UBC, while Ian Henderson and Alex Saavedra are expected to re-join the program in the new year.
