LOOKING FOR HYACK FOOTBALL ALUMNI
Hyack Main Logo

This year's homecoming game is on Fri, Sept 23rd and we are hoping to see the biggest group of alumni we've ever had. If you know of any NWSS/Pearson/Massey football alumni from the 50s, 60s and 70s please encourage them to attend and pass their contact info along to Jayne at: [email protected].

Also if you are a "new era" Hyack football alumni (2003-2010), expect to get contacted by someone from your grad class, so please be sure to attend. The parachutists are back, there will be a great band in the house and it should be a great time.

CALIFORNIA TRIP A HUGE SUCCESSFall

Eighty members of the Hyack football program returned home on Sunday well-tanned, entertained and a much closer group. The team held the second week of its fall camp in Anaheim, CA and also spent time at Disneyland, Six Flags, Medieval Times and at a USC football game.  The Hyacks lost in front of a big crowd at Citrus Valley HS in Redlands, but the Varsity game was an extremely close contest right up to the final moments. The players were extremely well-behaved as the trip went off without incident. Again, special thanks to Lisa Brady for putting together what was a memorable week.

KUSHNIR BOOT ON THE LINE THIS FRIDAY AT MERCERCali

Friday night football will be back at Mercer on Friday, Sept 2nd at 7:30 pm when the Hyacks play host to South Delta. The Kushnir Boot will also be on the line that night for the first time since 2008. The late Bill Kushnir is the man who started both the South Delta and New West football programs.

The Sun Devils come into the game following a 33-0 win over Duchess Park HS from Prince George. South Delta is among the better programs in AA and they are currently an honorable mention in the provincial rankings.

The Hyacks meanwhile will be led by Regan Eberding, who was exceptional last Friday. He rushed for 68 yards on 8 carries and also finished with 10 tackles. Jeremy Wilson caught 4 passed for 82 yards and also registered 8 tackles (2 for loss), while Aldrin Asuncion scored the Hyacks only TD and rushed for 72 yards on 13 carries. Yahia Gomaa, Jordan Chin and Connor Brady also stood out on both sides of the ball, but the games most impressive play may have come from Jonathan He, who raced 50 yards to save what would have been a touchdown off a turnover.

There will be a special halftime band and the game can be seen live on SportCanada.tv
