Whatever their passion - history, art, music, science, education, sports - the NACO Education Foundation will provide them an opportunity to fund their education beyond the K-12 level. Memorial gifts to NACO's Education Foundation are tax deductible and will be a lasting legacy in honor of your loved one's commitment to educating the children of Nebraska's county officials and employees. Take care of your computers with regular cleaning. Heat and moisture are the two things that can really slow down or even damage your computer. Excess heat accelerates the deterioration of delicate systems components. Dust and dirt are the leading causes of overheating in computers. Clogged vents and CPU cooling fans can restrict air-flow through the case which would otherwise dissipate heat. Even a small layer of dust can raise the temperature of your components. Routine cleaning of your computer inside and out should be conducted every couple of months to reduce heating issues and keep your system running.

Be sure to keep your computer away from any kind of heat sources or anything that may fall on your computer or make it dirty. Be sure to always turn off and unplug the system before you clean any of the components inside the computer. In addition, don't forget to remove any static electricity from your body by touching anything that is grounded. Never apply any liquids directly to a component. Spray or pour any liquids on a lint-free cloth then wipe the computer with the cloth.

Clean the case by wiping the case down and clearing any ventilation ports of any obstructions. Compressed air can be a great tool for this, but try to avoid blowing the dust into the computer. Keep your keyboard clean by turning it upside down and shaking any crumbs out between the keys. Compressed air can also be used to dislodge debris in the keyboard. To remove dirt rather than rearrange it, a small vacuum should be used to suck out loose debris. Monitors can be cleaned using a damp cloth and lightly wiping off the screen.

Taking the time to keep a computer clean can greatly increase the life of a computer. Take good care of your computer and it will take good care of you.
