Today is a Brand New Day!

Good morning Friend,
It is Thursday!! Can't wait till Friday, why because Saturday follows after that! Two things I found really hard to do. Pray for my enemies and find a way to express true gratitude from the heart to God. This past weekend I read on my devotional about gratitude and it got stuck in my head. God is the maker of hearts, therefore He knows what goes in there all the time. When we are happy, he knows, when we are sad, He knows, when we are selfish, He knows, when we are kind, He knows....but when we are going through hardships He also knows that we are not always filled with gratitude. We have acknowledgment for God; our minds tells us that God has done something great for us in the past. But gratitude doesn't flow out of our heart. When I was at this stage of my relationship with God, I used to give thanks for the food, that is easy to do. But during prayer time, I could not find gratitude in my heart for the difficulties I was facing. I felt shame for not trusting God with my issues and I couldn't see how God would turn things around for me. Until I had no energy to fight the world on my own....I turned the control over to God almighty. Then I started to value God for who He really is..God. When I could not find any other treasure other then the love of Christ for me and His sacrifice for me on the cross...then I was aware of a gratitude that knows no boundaries. A gratitude that does not depend on my circumstances but to a solid already existing active Love granted and extended to me through Christ. How do you experience and express gratitude towards God?
15 Then one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, praising God with a loud voice; 16 and he fell on his face at Jesus' feet, giving him thanks. Now he was a Samaritan. 17 Then Jesus answered, "Were not ten cleansed? Where are the nine? 18 Was no one found to return and give praise to God except this foreigner?" Luke 17:15-17
Have a great weekend, God bless you,
