Today is a Brand New Day!
Happy 4th of July everyone!

I pray you are having a great day today with family and friends around you. Last night I spent time with my friend Lisie, we went for a 3 mile walk and we got the chance to catch up. Afterwards we went to grab a bite at Scotty's landing in the Grove. We got the treat of the night when the full moon showed up!

Today, I will take the time to pray for this country where I live, it is not my country but this is where God has brought me and I should pray for it. This was what God commanded Jeremiah to tell His people.

But seek the welfare of the city where I have sent you into exile, and pray to the Lord on its behalf, for in its welfare you will find your welfare. Jeremiah 29:7

Finally, John Adams is one of my American history heroes. He was a strong man of character who trusted his wife's advise, they were best friends. Their letters are proof of their devotion to one another. He was one of the righteous men of the time.

"The second day of July, 1776, will be the most memorable epoch in the history of America. I am apt to believe that it will be celebrated by succeeding generations as the great anniversary festival. It ought to be commemorated as the day of deliverance, by solemn acts of devotion to God Almighty. It ought to be solemnized with pomp and parade, with shows, games, sports, guns, bells, bonfires, and illuminations, from one end of this continent to the other, from this time forward forever more." John Adams letter to his wife Abigail

"Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people." Proverbs 14:34 ESV

God bless you,
