Good morning friend,

The day is getting closer for me to travel to Portland Oregon and I can tell you that I am super excited. Pray for me that all that I learn during this trip will be for God's glory and that He will guide me in taking action and that the influence of this conference will last a life time not just this weekend.
 
So we are at the blessing being on Shem & Japheth and the curse on Ham who is father to Canaan. That brings us to Genesis chapter 10.
The important things I noticed here are highlighted and underlined.
1. The account of Cush sons do not include Nimrod but then in verse 8 it is mentioned that Cush fathered Nimrod. (I will ask my professors if there is a reason why the bible makes distinction on the sons and fathering a son)
2. The mention of the Kingdom of Babel, the territory in Assyria and Nineveh. These were the cities and kingdoms who worship other gods and which later became enemies/oppressors of the chosen people of God(Jer).
3. From Ham's branch also come the Philistines the great enemies of God's chosen people.

Genesis 10:6-13

6  The sons of Ham: Cush, Egypt, Put, and Canaan.  

7 The sons of Cush: Seba, Havilah, Sabtah, Raamah, and Sabteca.  

The sons of Raamah: Sheba and Dedan.  

8 Cush fathered Nimrod; he was the first on earth to be a mighty man.[a] 9 He was a mighty hunter before the Lord. Therefore it is said, "Like Nimrod a mighty hunter before the Lord." 10 The beginning of his kingdom was Babel, Erech, Accad, and Calneh, in the land of Shinar. 11 From that land he went into Assyria and built Nineveh, Rehoboth-Ir, Calah, and 12 Resen between Nineveh and Calah; that is the great city.  See map below 

13  Egypt fathered Ludim, Anamim, Lehabim, Naphtuhim, 14 Pathrusim, Casluhim (from whom[b] the Philistines came), and Caphtorim.
