Good morning friend,
Hope you had a great weekend and to those of you who are off today observing President's Day, I hope you will enjoy this day too.
Before I can continue to read Exodus, I need to know about the genealogies before Abram. So far I have a good understanding of Adam's descendants. After the flood only Noah and his sons remain; Shem, Ham and Japheth.
Now there is an incident that marked the future of the three sons. Noah got drunk and laid uncovered in his tent. Ham the father of Canaan saw his nakedness and he told his two brothers about it. They covered their father without looking at his nakedness. When Noah woke up, he realized that Ham had seen him naked he cursed him.
Genesis 10:25-27
"Cursed be Canaan; a servant of servants shall he be to his brothers."26 He also said, "Blessed be the Lord, the God of Shem;
and let Canaan be his servant. 27 May God enlarge Japheth,
and let him dwell in the tents of Shem,and let Canaan be his servant."
This is important because the blessing is on Shem and the curse on Ham who is father to Canaan.
I pray that you have a great and fruitful week.
God bless you abundantly!
