Jules
 Good morning friend,

Hope you are having a great week so far.
Think about this. God created the world. He made everything on it, God creates man in His image and makes woman out of the flesh of the man. God had intimate communion with His creation but then mankind fell short and they are expelled from paradise. Still He provided for His creation so it could multiplied. Then Eve conceives two sons Abel and Cain and Cain killed Abel. Cain leaves and goes away from the presence of God. Adam lies with his wife and has another son called Seth. All this unfolds in Genesis chapter 4.  Then people became corrupt and evil and God flooded the earth but He spared Noah and his three sons Shem, Ham and Japhet (Gen 9).

Why is this important if I am reading Exodus? Because I need to understand who are the characters and it is very important to know their ancestry. Can you tell me who fathered Abram, and who was Abram's grandfather? Is Abram descendant of Noah, Ham or Japhet? The answer is in Genesis chapter 10 and 11. I am also providing you with a family tree so that you can visualize with me how the families came to be after reading Gen chapter 10 & 11.

God bless you abundantly!
