Greetings!
Good morning, I pray you had a good weekend and that you enjoyed the time with family and friends. Last Saturday, we celebrated the Kick-off Christmas Season; anticipating Christmas. We came together at my place and first we had a devotional, we had the Lord's Supper & we prayed together..... and then we had dinner. Two faces are missing in the picture, Carrie and I, but unfortunately the other group picture was blurry. During the week I will share more pictures and more testimonies about our gathering. Rosa & Brunella, you were missed!
The focus of the devotional was to clean our hearts, trowing away all the junk that we collected throughout the year and embrace the Savior born on Christmas Day. Everywhere we see, "Season's Greetings", but really, the message is that the season has no meaning if we do not include Christ in it. Long ago, angels foretold the birth of Christ to the Shepherds. In our day, we are those angels talking about the birth of Christ. In order to share that joy, we must live it ourselves, despite of our hardships and pains. We will deny ourselves to serve Christ and to bring Hope to the hopeless, to share a smile with the broken and to lift each other in prayers.
Luke 2:8-14
8 And in the same region there were shepherds out in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. 9 And an angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were filled with fear. 10 And the angel said to them, "Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. 11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, who is Christ the Lord. 12 And this will be a sign for you: you will find a baby wrapped in swaddling cloths and lying in a manger." 13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying, 14 "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among those with whom he is pleased!"
As we begin this new week, lift your chin, you are victorious, the Lord is with you! The blog will also provide you the Nativity story with the Bible verses and I downloaded Christmas music. so go and visit www.TodayisaBrandNewDay.com
