Friend

I took a pottery class once and it was a great experience to learn the process. One gets to play with clay, form the artwork, paint it, carve all the details and then fire it up in a kiln on very high temperature overnight. What sucks is that, if you did not shape the clay well, airbubbles might be in it then the artwork does not withstand the fire; it is destroyed. So you never know if all the delicate work was in vain or not until it comes out of the fire.
If we think about it, our spiritual life is similar. Our faith is tested in the fire of trials and hardships, whether they are consequences of our sins or inflicted by people around us. Our character in Christ will be revealed after each hardship and how we deal with the affliction. I learned a thing or two from Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, their faith and trust in God was amazing.
furnace
17 If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to deliver us from it, and he will deliver us from Your Majesty's hand. 18 But even if he does not, we want you to know, Your Majesty, that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have set up." Daniel 3:17-18

Use the temperatures and characteristics of pottery material as an illustration of our kind of faith made of earthenware, stoneware or porcelain. What do you think? Does it depend on the call of our ministry what type of heavy burdens we will undergo? How are we walking out of the blazing furnace?

Earthenware is fired at a low temperature around 1400-2000°F . It is not very strong and is porous.
Stoneware- harder than earthenware, it is fired at about 2200-2400°F. Stoneware is strong
Porcelain - a special type of clay either white or gray, fired at 2300°F and over; it becomes glass-like and completely impermeable.
