Roman empire
Friend

Got your coffee? yummy!

The Ancient Greek Empire ended sometime 146 BC and the Roman Empire took over. Still Greek remained the Lingua Franca used also by intellectuals in Rome, that is why Paul was able to travel across the empire bringing the Good news in the Greek language. Paul was a Jew so he spoke Aramaic too. He had yet another advantage, his nationality he was born a Roman citizenTherefore he had free passage throughout the land. The Roman Empire if you look at this map is huge, the bad news is that Christians were persecuted in the entire empire. On the left I placed a time line so that you can kind of grasp what happened in the first 100 years, 200 and 300 years. Now, one last important fact. Look at the map again. Think about the traveling...now, think that there was no transportation as we know today, no planes or cruise ships. The boats were very small and the fasted thing was a horse. The shoes Paul used are far from being comfortable or durable. The road was dusty and dark because there was no light. And Christians were being persecuted.
Having said all that, the important thing we need to remember is that our past and our present will be useful in the time line of our lives. If right now you cannot understand why you are where you are(if not a dumb decision on your behalf), then endure the uncertainty. God is at work in your life. Maybe you are young, maybe you are old, maybe you are comfortable and maybe you are being challenged. Whatever the situation. God is right there, Christ has your back!

16 Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. 17 When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. 18 Then Jesus came to them and said,
"All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.
19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."
Matthew 28:16-20
